Abstract
INVESTIGATIONS of the polysaccharides of米ycobacterium phleihave been few and mainly concerned with those secreted into the culture medium. Thus Masucci and McAlpine1found that a polysaccharide which they isolated from culture filtrates containedD-mannose andD-arabinose. Tennent and Watson2isolated a similar product and showed that the molecular weight was 7,300. In the present investigation the intracellular polysaccharides of米. phleiwere studied.
