You (m/f/x) will represent the entire field of physical chemistry in all aspects of teaching and research. Your research is expected to focus on a current field of experimental physical chemistry. The chair should complement the existing research directions in physical and theoretical chemistry at TU Dresden in a synergetic way and play a leading role in current strategic initiatives of the Faculty of Chemistry and Food Chemistry as well as those of TU Dresden. Your teaching activities shall cover physical chemistry as a major subject in all degree programs of the Faculty of Chemistry and Food Chemistry as well as a minor subject in degree programs of other faculties with both German and English as teaching languages. We explicitly require your active participation in interdisciplinary projects (e.g.SFB1415,GRK2767), the Excellence Initiative of the Federal and State Governments 2026, in academic self-administration, and in cooperation with non-academic research institutes located in Dresden.
We expect candidates to be internationally visible through their successful, independent scientific work in their respective fields of research. Your research should be focused on the physical understanding of chemical processes and to provide links to other research groups at TU Dresden and associated research institutes. Furthermore, we seek a person with extensive experience in teaching physical chemistry, special didactic skills, willingness to cooperate and to participate in strategic initiatives as well as success in raising third-party funds. Applicants must fulfill the employment qualification requirements of § 58 of the Act on the Autonomy of Institutions of Higher Education in the Free State of Saxony (SächsHSFG).
