Faculty Position

The group of Molecular and Statistical Biophysics (http://www.sissa.it/sbp) at SISSA, the International School for Advanced Studies in Trieste, Italy (http://www.sissa.it) is expanding in new areas related to the Physics of Biological Systems (theory and computation) with the planned opening of a permanent position at Tenure Track or Associate Professor level.

At this stage we welcome expressions of interest from young researchers seeking to establish their own lines of research within the international and stimulating research environment of SISSA, where diversity and cultural differences are valued and encouraged.

The scholar will work as an independent principal investigator and bring complementary expertise to the Group which is currently focussed on physics-based models of biological and polymeric systems and their characterization using advanced theoretical and numerical techniques. The researcher will benefit from top level working conditions in our research-oriented gradual school, including a starting grant, teaching to small groups of motivated graduate students, and the possibility to supervise PhD students fully paid by the School.
